What garage door repairs actually cost in DFW

Most garage door companies won't put a number on a page. Here's ours — the same ranges EZ Fix publishes. Your exact price is confirmed on site before any work starts, but you shouldn't have to make a phone call to find out the ballpark.

$89

Full garage door tune-up

Rollers, hinges, tracks, balance and safety check. The cheapest way to avoid a spring or opener failure.

$150 – $350

Most repairs

Springs, cables, rollers, sensors, off-track doors and most opener faults — the large majority of what we're called out for.

$500 – $1,500+

Major repairs & replacement

A new opener, a new door, or multiple damaged sections. Quoted individually after inspection.

Ranges are for standard residential doors in the DFW metro and include parts and labor. Oversized, custom, insulated and commercial doors are quoted separately, and no price is finalised until a technician has inspected the door. Your $50 discount and waived service call come off the top. [CLIENT TO VERIFY — figures taken from EZ Fix's own published FAQ; confirm they are current]

Why people call us back

The no-surprises promise

You've probably heard the horror story: a cheap advertised price, then a technician who "discovers" the whole system needs replacing. That's the reason this section exists.

01

The price is fixed before we start

Our technician diagnoses the door, shows you what failed, and gives you one number. You approve it before a single tool comes out. It does not change afterwards.

02

The visit is free when we do the repair

No service call fee on a completed repair. If you decide not to go ahead, you'll be told what a call-out costs before we come — never after.

03

We fix what broke

A snapped spring is a spring job. We'll tell you honestly if something else is close to failing, but you will never be told you need a whole new door to get a working one.

04

Covered for life

Parts and labor on eligible repairs carry a lifetime warranty. If our repair fails, we come back and put it right. [CLIENT TO VERIFY]

That is the whole promise. Nothing starts until you have agreed the price.

Before you call

Questions we get asked every day

How much will my repair actually cost?

See the price table above for typical DFW ranges. The honest answer is that we can give you a solid range on the phone once you describe the symptom, and a fixed price once a technician has looked at the door. What we won't do is quote you a headline price to get in the driveway and then change it.

How fast can someone actually get here?

30 to 60 minutes to most DFW addresses — and our phones are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. Springs, cables, rollers, sensors and openers are stocked on the truck, so in most cases the technician who arrives can finish the repair on that visit rather than booking a second one. [CLIENT TO VERIFY]

My car is trapped inside — what do I do right now?

Call us first, then don't force the door. Every garage door opener has a red manual release cord hanging from the rail. Pulling it disconnects the door from the motor so it can be lifted by hand — but only do this if the door is fully closed and the spring is intact. If a spring has snapped, the door's weight is no longer counterbalanced and it can drop; leave it alone and wait for the technician. Tell dispatch your car is stuck and we'll treat it as a priority.

Is it dangerous to keep using the door?

If a spring has snapped or a cable has come off, yes — stop. Torsion springs hold enough tension to cause serious injury, and running a door on one broken spring puts the whole load on the opener and the remaining cable. If it's off track or hanging crooked, don't operate it at all. Disconnect the opener with the red release cord and call us.

Will you tell me I need a whole new door?

Not unless you genuinely do — which is rare. The vast majority of what we see is a spring, a cable, a roller set, a sensor or an opener component, and all of those are repairs. If a door is genuinely beyond economic repair, we'll show you why and give you the option — we won't lead with it.

Should I replace one spring or both?

Both, almost always. Springs are fitted as a matched pair and wear at the same rate, so when one goes the other is usually close behind. The second spring costs far less fitted during the same visit than it does as a separate call-out a few months later, and a mismatched pair pulls the door unevenly and wears the opener.

What does the lifetime warranty actually cover?

Parts and labor on eligible repairs. If a part we fitted fails, we come back and replace it. Ask your technician to confirm exactly what's covered on your specific job before you approve the work. [CLIENT TO VERIFY — exact terms and exclusions]

What areas do you cover?

Across the DFW metro — Dallas, Fort Worth, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Arlington, Garland, Irving, Richardson, Carrollton, Mesquite, Rowlett, Rockwall, Sachse, Wylie, University Park, Heath and Forney. If you're just outside that, call and ask — we'll tell you honestly rather than waste your time.

What happens after I submit the form?

It goes straight to dispatch. Someone calls or texts you back with availability and a price range for your symptom — normally within business hours, and quickly. You're not committing to anything by submitting it, and nobody will chase you if you've already sorted it elsewhere.
